Sivvee app

The Sivvee App

APP CONCEPT AND PROTOTYPE

Sivvee is an app that aggregates content from all over the internet and streaming channels to serve up content and recommendations tuned to your likes and dislikes.

This app is the go-to app to help you find the best content and see what all your media formats, services and channels have to offer in one place. No more searching multiple sites and sources for content.
Sivvee fills your content menu, with only the content you like or want depending on your mood or interest!

The Problem

For many content providers and channels the biggest challenge is content discoverability and audience reach. For the user the biggest challenge is not only the endless number of platforms and services to browse but the prolific amount of content to sift through when deciding what to watch, read or listen to.

For the user Sivvee reduces the time invested, the decision fatique and cognitive load and serves up only the content that you want.

For the content provider, Sivvee connects the content of interest directly to the user.

The Process

Research

The project idea usually comes from a problem that needs to be solved, a business need or a better user-experience for the user and organisation. As this is a personal project, the idea came from a desire to watch quality content without having to waste time and quality design making powers on mindless scrolling through streaming channels and content providers.

Competitor Analysis

I then began to research the idea to see if this problem has already been solved and executed in an app. I discovered that there were a few apps out there. I analysed the apps for pros and cons and decided that my idea would provide a unique solution to this problem.

User questions

I began to ask questions of my target audience, those who consume a variety of content and various platforms and channels.

Card Sorting

The card sorting exercise was extremely useful for categorising and classifying the information that needed to be included.

Personas

I defined the user persona in the following way; the user has an insatiable appetite for consuming media of all types. They are always scouring for new content to consume. They are extremely tech savvy, and take on new technology with ease and eagerness. They consume a varied range of channels, from books, podcasts to streaming channels and YouTube series. They also like gaming and keep up to date with news and world events. They have some very niche interests in their worklife and home life which they like to keep up to date with.

Wireframes

I began wireframing some potential interface layouts.

The Challenges

Designing an app that allows for easy customisation so that the choices are not overwhelming. Aggregating enough content will be essential to the engagement and acquisition of users. The large amount of content that needs to be presented in a way to not overwhelm the user. Gaining access to the data of channel profiles so that content can be customised for the user.
